Data this site collects
SizeDecoder is a static site. It does not require an account, and none of the size or measurement tools ask you to create one. Where a tool (such as My Size Card) lets you save your own measurements, that data is stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device — it is never transmitted to us or to any third party, and we have no way to see it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4, run by Google, to understand which pages are useful and which aren't — page views, referring pages, approximate location at the country or city level, and general device and browser type. We read that information as aggregate reports; we never look up an individual visitor, and we have no mechanism here for attaching a name, email address, or account to any of it. Google Analytics does, however, assign your browser a randomly generated client identifier so it can tell a repeat visit apart from a new one, and that identifier persists between visits. We also use Vercel's own aggregate page-view analytics alongside it.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies on your device — principally _ga and a per-property _ga_<id> — which store the randomly generated client identifier described above and how long your visit lasted. These are analytics cookies, not advertising cookies: we do not run ad-targeting or remarketing tags on this site, and we do not sell data to advertisers or data brokers. A payment processor may set its own cookies during an actual purchase, as described under Third-party services below. If you would rather not be counted at all, most browsers can block these cookies or block the Google Analytics script outright, and every conversion table, chart, and tool on this site works exactly the same either way.
Payments
If you purchase a paid product on this site, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details ourselves — Stripe handles that in accordance with its own privacy policy and PCI compliance obligations.
What we don't collect
We don't ask for your name, email address, or any account credentials to use any conversion table, chart, or tool on this site. The only place an email address enters the picture is if you choose to contact us directly, in which case we retain that message only for as long as needed to answer it and don't add it to a marketing list without separate, explicit consent.
Local storage versus cookies
The My Size Card tool specifically uses your browser's local storage, a different mechanism from a cookie — local storage isn't sent to any server on each page request the way a cookie is, and it's readable only by pages on this site running in your own browser. Nothing about your saved measurements is visible to us, to analytics, or to any third party, since the data never leaves your device in the first place.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone we know to be under 13. A parent measuring a child's shoe or clothing size using this site's charts and tools isn't submitting the child's personal information anywhere — as above, any measurement entered into a tool stays in the browser's local storage and is never transmitted.
Your choices
You can clear your browser's local storage at any time to remove anything saved by My Size Card, and most browsers let you block or limit analytics and third-party scripts through their own privacy settings without needing to contact us first. If you'd like confirmation of what limited data we might hold about a message you sent us, or want it deleted, contact us using the details below.
Third-party services
Two outside companies receive data through this site. Google, through the Google Analytics script described above, which loads on every page and operates under Google's own privacy policy. And Stripe, whose payment scripts load only at the point of an actual purchase and operate under Stripe's own privacy practices during that transaction only — they aren't present on ordinary conversion, chart, or measuring-guide pages where no purchase is happening. Nothing you type into any measuring tool on this site is sent to either of them.
International visitors
This site is used by visitors in many countries, and the data-handling approach above — minimal collection, no accounts, local-only storage for saved measurements — is the same regardless of where you're visiting from, rather than a different policy tier depending on your location.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what data is collected or how it's used, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you've seen the updated version.
